Job Summary
Conduct speech therapy for patients with communication and swallowing disorders in a hospital setting, with potential float within the facility as needed. Manage rotating weekend coverage of approximately two days per four-week scheduling period. Maintain an active Texas State License and complete the Clinical Fellowship Year and Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHA. BLS Certification from AHA or ARC may be required. This assignment seeks candidates with critical care experience and at least two years of hospital-based SLP experience.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited educational program
- Completed Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- current Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA
- Active Texas State License
- ability to obtain Texas State License prior to start of assignment
- BLS Certification from AHA or ARC
- prior hospital experience
- Must be available for rotating weekend coverage (approximately 2 weekend days per 4-week scheduling period)
Desired Qualifications
- At least 2 years of hospital-based SLP experience
- Experience with speech therapy for patients in critical care settings
- Former experience working in an HCA facility
