Job Summary
Evaluate speech, language, cognitive-communication, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders to develop and implement individualized treatment plans. Provide evidence-based interventions for dysphagia and monitor resident progress to modify plans and maximize functional outcomes. Complete accurate documentation including evaluations, progress reports, and discharge summaries while collaborating with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members. Educate residents, families, and caregivers on communication strategies and safety precautions.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Georgia Speech-Language Pathologist license in good standing
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Clinical Fellowship (CF)
- Current CPR certification
- Willingness to obtain CPR certification upon hire
- Strong clinical assessment skills
- Strong communication skills
- Strong documentation skills
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in skilled nursing, subacute rehabilitation, long-term care, or inpatient rehabilitation
- Experience with dysphagia management
- Experience with cognitive-communication disorders
- Familiarity with Medicare documentation and reimbursement guidelines
- Experience working with geriatric and medically complex populations
