Job Summary
Provide school-based speech-language pathology services across Madison City Schools. Conduct screenings, evaluate and diagnose speech and language disorders, develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs), and establish service delivery models to meet the needs of students. Collaborate with classroom teachers and families to ensure carry-over of therapy gains into classroom activities, maintain accurate records, communicate progress to administrators and families, and adhere to school policies and regulations. Requires state certification authorities and ASHA credentials and successful background check; 187-day full-year employment with FLSA-exempt status. Conducts referrals to other professionals as needed and participates in ongoing professional growth and leadership.
Required Qualifications
- Certification by state authorities and ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association)
- Background check and fingerprinting per Alabama state requirements
- Ability to screen, evaluate, and diagnose speech and language disorders
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Coordinate and deliver speech-language pathology services within a school setting
- Maintain accurate records and communicate progress to administrators, families, and staff
