Required Qualifications

• •current valid North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists (NCBOESLPA) license
• •National Provider Identifier
• •Thorough knowledge of the theory, principles and methods of speech-language pathology and the proper application within the educational environment
• •Considerable knowledge of appropriate speech-language screening and evaluation instruments
• •Considerable knowledge of assistive technology and specifically augmentative/alternative communication evaluation and treatment
• •Considerable knowledge of current literature, trends, and developments in the field of speech-language pathology
• •Ability to remain organized to effectively move throughout the workday
• •Skilled in directly providing a wide range of speech-language treatment activities
• •Ability to select and administer appropriate assessment and treatment methods
• •Ability to plan, coordinate, and conduct on-the-job training and continuing education for a variety of individuals
• •Ability to screen, evaluate, and provide required speech-language pathology services
• •Ability to develop and implement individualized education programs
• •Ability to accurately document sessions
• •Ability to maintain adequate inventory of supplies
• •Ability to maintain complete and accurate records as well as the ability to develop simple reports from those records
• •Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
• •Must be able to use a variety of equipment and classroom tools such as computers, copiers, typewriters, calculators, pencils, scissors, and equipment for children with special needs
• •Must be able to exert a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
• •Requires the ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or composite characteristics of data, people or things
• •Requires the ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information
• •Requires the ability to read a variety of correspondence, reports, handbooks, forms, lists, etc.
