Speech-Language Pathologist

Job Summary
Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to provide therapy for students requiring speech and language services, including phonology, articulation, fluency, and written language skills. Develop appropriate goals and objectives for inclusion in IEPs, attend IEP meetings, and prepare sequential instruction to meet unique educational needs. Collaborate with classroom teachers to make environmental adjustments and transfer newly learned skills for supported learning. Monitor intervention efficacy, assist districts in MTSS implementation, and advocate for student therapy services while managing therapy time and caseload schedules. Provide information to families to assist with activities at home and report suspected child abuse as required by law.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Secure and maintain a valid Ohio Educator License as required by placement or assignment
- Ohio Pupil Services Registration
- Ohio BCI and Federal Background check free of disqualifying infractions
- Comply with drug-free workplace rules and board policies
- Pass required training including Bloodborne Pathogens, Crisis Intervention, Educator Ethics, etc.
- Embody high ethical standards, integrity, and accept responsibility for decisions and conduct
- Efficiently operate Google Applications including Gmail, Drive, Sheets, Docs, etc.
- Adhere to the Stark County Educational Service Center (SCESC) Governing Board policies/administrative guidelines/staff handbook
- Adhere to the Licensure Code of Professional Conduct for Educators
- Promote the proper use, care, and security of SCESC property
- Report misconduct, vandalism, equipment malfunctions, and other concerns
- Advance the professional image of the SCESC and affiliate districts
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with coworkers and colleagues promoting a cohesive work environment
- Report suspected child abuse and/or neglect to supervisor and/or civil authorities as required by law
- Maintain confidentiality of student related information
