Job Summary
Provide virtual, in-person, individual, and group speech-language services to preschool children and adults within the Eastern Zone, with a home base in Evanston. Deliver core services including prevention, diagnosis, and treatment while maintaining provincial clinical standards. Support outreach and parachute services, including home-based delivery and telepractice, alongside caregiver training and coaching. Maintain Hanen membership and demonstrate commitment to family-centered care. This role requires flexibility for evening and weekend services, regular travel throughout Nova Scotia, and adherence to a 70-hour biweekly schedule. A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and NSCASLP licensure are required.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Nova Scotia College of Audiologists & Speech-Language Pathologists (NSCASLP) licensure or eligible for licensure
- Effective communication skills, including proficiency in written and spoken English
- Flexibility in work schedule to provide evening/weekend services
- Flexibility to travel on occasion to attend continuing education, events and/or meetings
- Demonstrate current immunization and/or boosters at the end of the probationary period
- Recent experience with provision of preschool speech and language assessment and treatment
- Familiarity with a variety of service delivery options for pediatric caseloads
- Demonstrated commitment to family-centered care
- Flexibility in work schedule to support outreach/parachute services
- Flexibility to travel throughout NS on a regular basis
- Valid Nova Scotia driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Flexibility for regular travel within the surrounding area
- Maintain Hanen membership as appropriate to caseload
- Able to start immediately
- Results of a criminal records check/vulnerable sector search and child abuse registry search, all to be satisfactory to the employer
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with off-site/home-based service delivery model
- Experience working with interprofessional clinical teams and/or working with supportive personnel
- Experience with provision of services via telepractice
- Experience providing caregiver training and/or coaching
- Experience in provision of outreach clinics
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages in a clinical setting
- Lived experience with a communication difference
