Speech Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Summary
Conduct speech therapy sessions with residents, interpreting physician directions to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits. Establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, medical staff, and other personnel while demonstrating emotional stability and professional appearance. Utilize knowledge of speech therapy principles, materials, and equipment to address possible hazards during treatment and ensure patient cooperation. Maintain patient and employee confidentiality and adhere to state licensure requirements. This role supports Solaris HealthCare Zephyrhills' mission to help residents resume normal life through compassionate, personalized care within a team that values integrity and excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree from an approved curriculum in speech pathology, or its equivalent
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/SLP) from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- Licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a speech-language pathologist or CFY in the state of Florida
- Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in Speech Therapy
- Member of state and national American Speech and Hearing Association
- Proficient administrative and public relations skills
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in speech therapy
- Thorough knowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and to obtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff and other personnel
- Ability to understand, interpret, and adopt a physician's written or oral directions and to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits regarding speech therapy
- Demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients and employees
- Knowledge of Medicare and third party reimbursement
