Job Summary
Conduct speech therapy sessions and evaluate residents to recommend treatment programs aligned with physician directions. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and other personnel while demonstrating emotional stability and confidentiality. Interpret and adopt written or oral directions to outline expected benefits regarding speech therapy and ensure necessary precautionary measures during treatment. Maintain patient and employee confidentiality and utilize proficient administrative and public relations skills. This role requires a master's degree, CCC/SLP certification, and state licensure, with Florida AHCA background screening.
Required Qualifications
- master's degree from an approved curriculum in speech pathology, or its equivalent
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC/SLP) from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association or be eligible for a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY)
- licensed (or eligible for licensure) to practice as a speech-language pathologist or CFY in the state of Florida
- Florida AHCA Clearinghouse background screening
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in Speech Therapy
- Member of state and national American Speech and Hearing Association
- Proficient administrative and public relations skills
- Thorough knowledge of the principles, methods, materials and equipment used in speech therapy
- Thorough knowledge of the possible hazards to patients during treatment and necessary precautionary and remedial measures
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients and to obtain their cooperation in the treatment prescribed
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with the medical staff and other personnel
- Ability to understand, interpret, and adopt a physician's written or oral directions and to recommend treatment programs and outline expected benefits regarding speech therapy
- Demonstrate emotional stability in order to cope with the demands of both patients and employees
- Knowledge of Medicare and third party reimbursement
