Job Summary
Evaluate patients with stroke, brain injury, and neurological diagnoses to develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans aligned with patient goals. Perform standardized assessments for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders, including Modified Barium Swallow evaluations, to determine diet and care strategies. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver patient-centered therapy, manage delegation of services, and participate in discharge planning involving placement and family education. Plan and deliver training to address safety concerns and facilitate community carryover while promoting speech services to the local community.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- CCC-SLP certification from ASHA
- TX-SLP certification from the State Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- Dysphagia experience
- 3+ years of outpatient experience with adult neuro
- 2 weekend days per month
- 24 shifts per year minimum
Desired Qualifications
- Preferred experience with: e-stim, FEES/MBSS, and evidence-based intervention methods
- 3+ years of outpatient experience with adult neuro preferred
- LSVT/SPEAK OUT certification preferred
- Working knowledge and familiarity with AAC preferred
- NMES for swallowing (AmpCare preferred)
