Job Summary
School-Based Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) in the Greater Chicago area delivering therapy to students aged 3-21 within the school setting. Responsibilities include implementing functional, measurable treatment plans aligned with IEPs, collaborating with teachers and other professionals, conducting progress assessments, writing annual review reports and goals, attending school-related meetings (IEP, annual reviews, domains, referrals, etc.), and providing screenings/evaluations for expressive/receptive language, feeding, and augmentative communication needs.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology, Communication Disorders, or similarly titled area acceptable to ASHA
- Possession or eligibility for ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) or eligibility to participate as an ASHA Clinical Fellow in select markets
- Licensed, certified or credentialed as required by the state of practice
- CPR certification
- ISBE Professional Educator License
- Clinical experience with pediatric population preferred
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Leadership and client relationship skills
- Ability to exercise mature judgment with initiative
- Maintains professional attitudes and respect for the school and staff
- Treats all students with dignity, compassion, empathy and respect
- Effective organizational skills to manage high-volume caseloads
