Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities to develop individualized therapy plans and goals. Provide direct therapy services targeting articulation, phonology, language comprehension, fluency, and pragmatic skills while incorporating evidence-based techniques. Collaborate with teachers, parents, and educational teams to support communication goals, monitor student progress, and adjust plans as needed. Document sessions and progress reports accurately, participate in IEP meetings, and apply assistive technology where appropriate. Work onsite in a K-12 school setting in Columbia, SC, reporting directly to the clinical team to deliver accessible speech-language therapy services.
Required Qualifications
- SC SLP License and Teaching Certificate
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Valid state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Current ASHA certification
- Experience providing speech-language therapy services in a school or pediatric setting
- Proficiency in assessment tools and therapeutic techniques commonly used in pediatric speech-language pathology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and school staff
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Physical stamina to supervise and engage with students throughout the school day
- Ability to lift or move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around in various areas of the school facility
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents both verbally and in writing
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, or crouch
Desired Qualifications
- Passionate about working with K-12 students in a virtual setting
- Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems and other assistive technology used in speech-language therapy
