Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct rehab care in speech therapy to patients upon physician referral in accordance with Life Care standards. Requires MS/MA in Speech Language Pathology, ASHA CCCs or eligibility for CFY, active state licensure, CPR certification, and comfort working with residents with dementia in post-acute care settings. Core duties include establishing and modifying realistic goals, charting, using therapy software, coordinating with an interdisciplinary team, supervising SLP CFYs (if applicable), ensuring patient rights and safety, maintaining confidentiality, and delivering high-quality patient care. Must demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and adherence to Life Care’s Code of Conduct. Essential functions include measuring progress, documenting appropriately, providing excellent customer service to patients, and ensuring attendance and reliability. Equal Opportunity Employer.
Required Qualifications
- MS or MA in Speech Language Pathology
- ASHA CCCs or eligible for 9 month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) to earn ASHA CCCs
- Active license to practice in the relevant state with good standing
- CPR certification (upon hire or during orientation) and current throughout employment
- 1 year experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Ability to work as part of an interdisciplinary team
- Knowledge of post-acute care facility regulations and Life Care standards
- Ability to establish, assess, and modify goals for patients
- Oversee and evaluate CFYs (SLP CFYs) for CCCS track (SLP CCCS)
- Experience with charting and therapy software
