Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct speech therapy rehab to patients under physician referral, requiring an MS/MA in Speech-Language Pathology, ASHA CCCs or CFY eligibility, and active state licensure; involves independent judgment in patient care, coordination with interdisciplinary teams, adherence to regulatory and company policies, documentation, and supervision of CFYs (SB) as applicable, with emphasis on patient rights, safety, and confidentiality in a post-acute care setting.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP)
- ASHA certified (CCCs) OR must be eligible for 9 month Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) in order to earn ASHA certification (CCCs) and/or meeting ASHA credentialing criteria
- Must be currently registered/licensed in applicable State and maintain active license in good standing
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation and must remain current during employment
- 1 year experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Ability to liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan for patient needs
- Knowledge of post-acute care facility practices and regulations
- Demonstrated ability to work independently when warranted
- Ability to implement and interpret department programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures
- Maintain confidentiality and professional relationships
- Follow company policies including harassment and compliance training
- Display integrity and professionalism per Code of Conduct
- Establish and modify measurable goals
- Oversee and evaluate care for CFYs (SLP CCCs only)
- Follow treatment plans for patients under supervision (CFYs) (SLP CFY only)
- Chart accurately and timely
- Utilize therapy software appropriately
- Provide excellent customer service and assist in patient evacuation
- Maintain dependable attendance
- Communicate effectively on interdisciplinary team
- Read, write, speak, and understand English
