Job Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) provides direct rehab care in speech therapy to patients in Life Care Centers of America SNFs, focusing on a diverse post-acute population with orthopedic, neurological, and cardiopulmonary needs. Responsibilities include establishing and modifying measurable goals, overseeing CFYs (SLP CFY only), following treatment plans under supervising SLP CCC, charting timely, utilizing therapy software, and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient-centered care. Requires MS/MA in speech therapy, ASHA CCCs or CFY eligibility, active state licensure, CPR certification, and ability to work in a full-time role with strong communication and clinical skills. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP)
- ASHA certified (CCC) OR eligible for CFY to earn ASHA certification
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
- Must maintain active license in good standing
- CPR certification upon hire or during orientation
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Demonstrate good body mechanics
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Knowledgeable of post-acute care facility regulations
- Implement and interpret department policies and procedures
- SLP CCCs required for certain functions (eligible CFY)
- Experience: 1 year preferred; new grads welcome
- Bilingual or other language skills (optional)
