Job Summary
Establish, assess, and modify realistic, measurable, timely, and functional goals for patients in speech therapy upon physician referral. Liaise with patients, families, and support departments to plan care needs while charting appropriately and utilizing therapy software. Communicate productively on an interdisciplinary team with nursing, therapy, and medical staff to facilitate collaborative care. Implement and interpret department programs, goals, and policies while maintaining confidentiality and adhering to Life Care standards. Assist in patient evacuation and demonstrate good body mechanics during work duties.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program in speech therapy (minimum MS or MA SLP)
- ASHA certified (CCCs)
- Currently registered/licensed in applicable State
- Active license in good standing throughout employment
- CPR certification upon hire or obtain during orientation
- CPR certification must remain current during employment
- Must be able to oversee and evaluate care given by SLP CFYs
- Must be able to follow speech therapy treatment plans for patients under direction of the supervising SLP CCC and in accordance with Federal and State guidelines
- Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
