Job Summary
Evaluate residents, develop treatment goals, and implement speech therapy plans covering cognitive skills, communication, dysphagia, and oral motor functions while documenting all services. Coordinate adaptive communication devices, consult with the rehabilitation team, and adapt programs to individual resident needs. Instruct residents in therapeutic techniques, supervise supportive personnel per state standards, and maintain equipment. Conduct training for medical and nursing staff, attend care meetings, and ensure high-quality service delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited Master's Level Speech Language curriculum certified by the American Speech/Language/ Hearing Association
- Licensed and/or eligible for licensure as required in the state
- Eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech/Language/Hearing Association
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Must be able to pass level 2 fingerprinting with an Eligible status
