Job Summary
Evaluate residents and develop individualized speech-language pathology treatment plans for communication, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Assess, treat, and monitor residents with dysphagia and voice issues while designing personalized therapy programs based on their rehabilitation goals. Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other therapists to modify care plans as needs evolve, and educate families on home programs. Supervise Speech Therapy Assistants and participate in interdisciplinary care meetings and quality improvement initiatives. Complete accurate documentation in compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and state guidelines. Provide education and training to staff on swallowing safety and therapy techniques.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current Florida Speech-Language Pathologist license or eligibility for licensure
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), or eligibility to obtain
- Strong clinical experience in dysphagia management and cognitive rehabilitation
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and documentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
Desired Qualifications
- Nursing home, rehabilitation, or skilled nursing facility experience preferred
