Job Summary
Screen residents for speech therapy needs and evaluate patients referred by approved sources to develop initial and ongoing treatment plans. Direct and supervise Rehab techs during group and individual treatments while overseeing discharge planning and case management. Optimize communication, cognitive-linguistic, and swallowing skills through screening, evaluation, and therapy delivery within Reliant Rehabilitation guidelines. Integrate SLP services into the interdisciplinary team, contribute to utilization review and family conferences, and make appropriate referrals to other rehabilitation professionals. Maintain accurate billing documentation, adhere to state and federal regulations, and follow infection control and safety protocols. This role requires patient lifting up to 30 pounds, travel between facilities, and varying shifts including weekends and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree, or equivalent, in Speech Language Pathology
- Valid Speech-Language Pathologist state license (where appropriate)
- Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
- Basic Internet navigation skills
- Must be able to lift thirty (30) pounds of dead weight alone
- Must be able to travel between facilities during scheduled hours
- Must be able to work varying hours and shifts, including weekends and holidays
- Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend in English: instructions, correspondence, charts, memos, and reports
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, productive work environment
Desired Qualifications
- Prior to beginning patient care for Reliant Rehabilitation, a peer SLP may complete a Competency Checklist
- Effective clinical problem-solving skills to include but not limited to: identify and prioritize issues in a responsive manner, develop sound and innovative action plans, execute action plans on a timely basis, and ensure appropriate results
- Be a strong team player
- Strong verbal & written communication skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with a diverse population
