Job Summary
Provide direct speech and language therapy to students (K-12) as outlined in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) through individual or small-group sessions. Conduct comprehensive screenings and diagnostic evaluations to determine eligibility and identify specific areas of need. Develop measurable goals, participate in IEP meetings with parents and administrators, and collaborate with classroom teachers to implement supportive strategies. Maintain meticulous records of progress and evaluations in compliance with Alabama State Department of Education and IDEA regulations while providing guidance to families and staff. Requires a Master's degree, current Alabama State License, and Professional Educator Certificate (Class A).
Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders from an accredited program
- Current Alabama State License (ABESPA)
- Valid ALSDE Professional Educator Certificate (Class A)
- Must pass a background check and fingerprinting as required by the Alabama State Department of Education
- Strong organizational skills to manage a part-time caseload
- The ability to travel between school sites within Barbour County if necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
- Clinical Fellows (CFY)
- Previous experience in a school setting
- Previous experience in a pediatric clinical setting
