Job Summary

Conduct specialized speech and language therapy for students in small groups, classrooms, and individually as determined by their Individualized Education Programs. Evaluate students, develop reports, and present findings at IEP Team meetings while completing progress reports for all caseload members. Collaborate with special needs and regular education teachers to integrate speech and language services into the curriculum. Provide services for students on regular education treatment plans and consult with school personnel on interventions. Transport self between school sites and student homes as necessary. Licensed as an Educational Speech and Language Pathologist by the MA Board of Teaching.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree, with a major field of study or degree of emphasis in Speech and Language Pathology
  • Working knowledge of the principals, practices and ethical standards of Educational Speech and Language Pathology; relevant state and federal laws, rules and regulations; and applicable district policies
  • Licensed as an Educational Speech and Language Pathologist by the MA Board of Teaching
  • Ability to transport self between and among school sites throughout the District, and to student's homes, as necessary

Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to deal effectively and appropriately with students, parents and other educational professionals regarding student concerns and problems
  • Ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing
  • Basic computer literacy - world processing, data entry
