Job Summary
Evaluate patients, establish treatment goals, and perform interventions for communicative, cognitive, and swallowing disorders. Assess treatment effectiveness, make discharge recommendations, and promote communication of patient care information among team members. Complete swallow function studies and provide voice evaluation and treatment, including pre and post op laryngectomies. Knowledge of Medicare and third-party payor requirements is required. Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology and current state licensure are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Masters Degree in Speech-Language pathology; graduate of an accredited program
- Experience in hospital setting preferred
- Current state licensure
- ASHA Certified or pursuing Clinical Fellowship/Vermont State Licensure, effective 2005
- Risk Category 1
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association
- Proficient with evaluation and treatments of a wide range of communicative, cognitive and swallowing disorders
- Including ability to complete swallow function studies
- Knowledge of Medicare and other third party payor requirements
- Training in voice evaluation and treatment (including pre and post op laryngectomies)
- Basic Microsoft Windows desktop application and navigation skills
Desired Qualifications
- Training in Lee Silverman Voice therapy (preferred)
- Training in Vital Stim therapy (preferred)
