Speech Language Pathologist - PRN

Job Summary
Evaluate and treat residents and patients with speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities by administering patient care procedures, diagnosing deficits through history reviews and standardized testing, and developing individualized treatment plans. Provide direct therapy to improve sounds, voice, reading, writing, and swallowing muscles while counseling families on coping strategies. Document progress, communicate with the healthcare team, and ensure safety and infection control practices are followed. This PRN role requires a current Oklahoma SLP license, BLS certification, and five years of full-time speech therapy experience. Avem Health Partners expects candidates to support the mission, maintain positive customer service, and participate in performance improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma license for Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
- Current BLS (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Five (5) years of full-time speech therapy work
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Visual abilities, auditory abilities, must be intact to perform duties
- Must have the physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of examinations and procedures
- Ability to think quickly and competently in stressful situations
- Must be able to effectively lead and coach others
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Three (3) years clinical experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
