Job Summary
Evaluate residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits and develop individualized treatment plans to increase independence. Provide skilled assessments, implement therapy, and coordinate diagnostic procedures like MBSS and FEES as ordered. Deliver education to residents, caregivers, and other professionals, including training on augmentative and alternative communication systems. Collaborate with nursing staff, manage clinical documentation and billing, and respond to family concerns while ensuring resident safety and confidentiality. Maintain compliance with all legal and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
- Current ASHA Certification
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
Desired Qualifications
- SNF/Long term care experience preferred
- Current knowledge of treatment practices
- Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
