Job Summary
Evaluate, plan, and administer medically prescribed speech therapy treatments to patients of all ages in accordance with physician orders. Identify functional problems requiring intervention, establish measurable outcomes, and modify treatment programs based on patient and caregiver goals. Coordinate care with PT, OT, nursing, and physicians while documenting activities timely and accurately per regulatory standards. Provide teaching and instruction to patients, families, and staff regarding treatment programs and equipment use. Supervise techs, volunteers, and students; participate in interdisciplinary rounds and committees. Maintain licensure, certification, and current knowledge through continuing education and mandatory training.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech Therapy
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Licensed Speech Therapist in Washington, D.C.
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years' experience preferred
