Job Summary
Conduct direct speech, language, and swallowing evaluations and re-evaluations, including assessment of prior and current functioning, goal setting, and discharge recommendations. Provide direct SLP treatments according to standards of practice, including patient and family education, treatment plan progression, and implementation of therapeutic interventions. Utilize appropriate documentation forms adhering to PM&R standards, coordinate personal schedule relative to patient treatment demands, and demonstrate proper equipment maintenance. Collaborate with physicians, patients, families, and other healthcare team members regarding treatment progress and effective discharge planning. Maintain CEUs per state requirements and adhere to Department of Health and Joint Commission regulations. Requires Speech-Language Pathology degree, DC licensure, BLS, and 1-2 years acute care or rehabilitation experience.
Required Qualifications
- Speech-Language Pathology degree
- Speech-Language Pathologist licensure in the District of Columbia, or ability to obtain if hired
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years related clinical practice experience in an acute care or rehabilitation facility preferred
