Speech Language Pathologist - PRN

Job Summary
Evaluate and treat residents and patients with speech, hearing, swallowing, and cognitive disabilities using standardized tests and treatment procedures. Develop individualized treatment plans, administer special procedures, and provide direct therapy to improve sound production, reading, writing, and swallowing muscles. Counsel families on coping strategies, document progress, and communicate with the healthcare team while ensuring safety and infection control protocols. Requires current Oklahoma SLP license, BLS certification, and five years of full-time speech therapy experience. This PRN role supports Avem Health Partners' mission to serve diverse populations in compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oklahoma license for Speech Language Pathology (SLP)
- Current BLS (or obtained within 30 days of hire)
- Five (5) years of full-time speech therapy work
- Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
- Visual abilities, auditory abilities, must be intact to perform duties
- Must have the physical strength and agility to position patients for a variety of examinations and procedures
- Ability to think quickly and competently in stressful situations
- Hold self-accountable for professional practice
- Communicate accurately and appropriately
- Handle difficult situations in a discreet and professional manner
- Demonstrate knowledge of unit goals and is active in committees and projects to achieve these goals
- Keep current with literature regarding changing practices, interventions and best practices in patient care
- Assume responsibility for seeking out educational and professional opportunities for personal learning needs and growth as well as meeting mandatory education requirements
- Act as a preceptor as requested
- Demonstrate excellent work attendance
- Adhere to the Avem Health Partners Code of Conduct and Standards of Behavior
- Complies with established policies and procedures and all health and safety requirements
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree preferred
- Three (3) years clinical experience preferred
- Supervisory experience preferred
