Job Summary
Conduct diagnosis and treatment of speech and language disorders for individuals enrolled in or referred to CP Rochester. Perform appropriate evaluations to determine therapy needs, establish short- and long-term objectives, and carry out treatment plans in clinic, day habilitation, or school settings. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, teachers, and legal guardians to facilitate coordinated services, while communicating with physicians and medical personnel. Provide individual and group therapy at various certified sites, including off-site locations as assigned, and ensure valid prescriptions are written for all caseload members. Complete all paperwork in accordance with agency policies, maintain treatment areas, and participate in program planning, research, and evaluation under department supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- New York State License in Speech Pathology or be eligible for a New York State License in Speech Pathology
- Current knowledge of the principles and methods of prevention, assessment, and intervention for people with communication and swallowing disorders, including consideration of anatomical/physiological, psychological, developmental, and linguistic and cultural correlates
- Must have demonstrated excellent listening skills
- Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Must have demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks at a high level of performance
- Ability to pull and push wheelchairs up to 250 – 300 pounds

Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred
