Job Summary

Plan and oversee the school speech-language program by coordinating services, maintaining Medicaid billing profiles, and developing individual education plans with teachers and parents. Conduct screenings, testing, and diagnostic evaluations to analyze data and make recommendations for programs and services. Manage therapy delivery using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques while supervising speech-language assistants and clinical fellows. Provide consultation, research, and referrals to implement services effectively. Requires a master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, NC G License, and ASHA certification. Open until filled.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • G License from the NC Department of Public Instruction
  • Must be physically able to operate a variety of equipment and tools including computer software, computer hardware, cables, etc.
  • Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects
  • Ability to compare and/or judge the readily observable, functional, structural, or composite characteristics of data, people or things
  • Ability to speak and/or signal people to convey or exchange information
  • Ability to read a variety of correspondence, technical manuals, newsletters, trade journals, etc.
  • Ability to prepare reports, forms, training materials, documentation, etc., using prescribed formats and conforming to all rules of punctuation, grammar, diction, and style
  • Ability to speak to people with poise, voice control and confidence
  • Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagrammatic form
  • Ability to deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to record and deliver information
  • Ability to explain procedures
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions
  • Must be able communicate effectively and efficiently in a variety of technical or professional languages including computer terminology
  • Ability to utilize mathematical formulas

  • Ability to inspect items for proper length, width and shape

  • Must have minimal levels of eye/hand/foot coordination
  • Ability to differentiate between colors and shades of color
  • Ability to deal with people beyond giving and receiving instructions
  • Must be adaptable to performing under stress and when confronted with persons acting under stress
  • Ability to talk and to hear
  • Must be able to communicate via telephone

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association
  • License from the Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathologists and Audiologists
