Job Summary
Diagnose, treat, and prevent speech, language, and swallowing disorders through screenings that detect voice or speech issues. Create individualized therapy and treatment plans tailored to diverse patient populations while educating families about disorder causes and disabilities. Maintain detailed records of conditions, care plans, and progress, then report current status to family members, teachers, or medical professionals. This role requires a Master's degree, valid state license, and strong communication skills to develop individualized education plans for patients and their families.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology
- Valid state license or certification
- Strong understanding of speech-related conditions, causes, and treatments
- Excellent coaching and verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with computers, especially patient and healthcare databases
- Attentive and caring with the ability to develop individualized education plans (IEPs)
