Job Summary

Plan, organize, and conduct speech therapy treatment programs based on state practice act guidelines. Perform age and diagnosis appropriate evaluations and treatments while maintaining patient care records and evaluating response to treatment. Recommend treatment plan changes and participate in special departmental programs, clinical education, and program development. Adapt behavior to specific patient populations, including respecting privacy and adjusting communication styles. Attain established productivity levels and conduct professional development, required training, and credentialing. May be required to educate and train others within the discipline.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Current Speech Pathologist license in the state of practice or eligibility for licensure by examination or reciprocity from another state
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
  • Certification of Clinical Competence from American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) required within 2 years of hire
  • Computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of information
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally
  • Proficiency with Windows-style applications, various software packages specific to role and keyboard
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good judgment and excellent decision-making skills in dealing with a variety of patients and diagnosis
  • Frequently exerting 10 to 20 pounds of force to move objects
  • Occasionally exerting up to 100 pounds of force

  • Experience with pediatric and adult populations
