Job Summary
Coordinate evaluation, treatment, and clinical activities of speech therapy to deliver effective patient care under the direction of the Director of Rehabilitation Services. Provide routine inpatient and sub-acute speech therapy and dysphagia evaluation and treatment while adhering to infection control procedures. Maintain strong interpersonal relationships with patients and staff, update skills per hospital policy, and perform physical tasks including walking, standing, and operating wheelchair accessories. Requires current California licensure, BLS certification, and a Master's degree with clinical internship experience. Based in El Dorado County at a nonprofit hospital serving the Sierra Foothills community.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from a school of Speech Pathology with a minimum of a Master's degree
- successful completion of a clinical internship
- Current California Speech Language Pathologist licensure
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Knowledge and understanding of speech therapy procedures and techniques
- Ability to follow directions accurately
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to assume responsibility for updating skills as required by hospital policy
- Ability to walk and stand for long periods
- Ability to stoop and mechanically operate wheelchair accessories repetitively throughout the day
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
