Job Summary
Assess patients in skilled care hospitals, outpatient settings, and pediatrics for speech, hearing, and language deficits. Teach patients to make sounds, improve voices, and increase oral or written language skills. Train individuals to strengthen swallowing muscles or use compensatory strategies to prevent choking. Requires a current state license or licensure application, active CPR certification, and graduation from an accredited school. Position involves sitting, standing, and walking with exposure to infectious disease and body fluids. Monday through Friday schedule with retention pay for one-year tenure.
Required Qualifications
- Must have graduated from an accredited school.
- Current state license as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP or proactively in the process of the application process for current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist / SLP.
- Current CPR certification.
- Speech Language Pathologist will work Monday through Friday.
- Working conditions will be in a clean, well-lighted area, with sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, frequent repetitive motion of the hands/wrists involved.
- May be required to deal with unpleasant environmental situations resulting from patient care or patient activity.
- Exposure to infectious disease, body fluids, odors, and dust.
- Will be working with a variety of general rehab equipment.
