Job Summary
The Speech Language Pathologist provides and directs all aspects of quality patient care, including evaluation, treatment planning, and documentation. Responsibilities include supervising assistants, communicating patient needs, developing treatment plans, conducting evaluations per M.D. orders, and maintaining state licensure. The role necessitates exceptional communication skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks, and a commitment to quality patient care in a skilled nursing environment.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved curriculum in Speech and Language Pathology
- Current, active license as Speech Pathologist
- CPR Certification, as required for license renewal
- Exceptional communication and customer service skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical information
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in long term care preferred
- Working knowledge of Medicare and other payer sources
- Full knowledge of residents' rights
