Job Summary
Conduct speech, language, and swallowing assessments to determine therapy needs, then execute treatment plans in clinic, preschool, and school settings. Impart agency philosophy regarding equal opportunity and individual potential to children, families, and staff while maintaining strict confidentiality. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including teachers and medical personnel, to coordinate services and review caseload status with the Program Supervisor. Manage paperwork, Electronic Health Records, and Medicare/Medicaid documentation in compliance with NYS Education Law and agency policies. Travel locally to partner agencies and occasionally out-of-area or overnight as required. Maintain treatment areas and equipment while attending team meetings and professional development workshops.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- New York State License in Speech Pathology
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Must have demonstrated excellent listening skills
- Must have demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks at a high level of performance
- Current knowledge of the principles and methods of prevention, assessment, and intervention for people with communication and swallowing disorders, including consideration of anatomical/physiological, psychological, developmental, and linguistic and cultural correlates
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
