Job Summary
Conduct speech-language evaluations, write prescriptions, and deliver treatment plans for children with communication and swallowing disorders across preschool, clinic, and school settings. Perform appropriate assessments to determine service needs, carry out established treatment protocols, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including teachers and medical personnel. Maintain confidentiality, complete required paperwork in electronic health records, and adhere to New York State Education Law and agency policies. Travel locally to partner agencies and occasionally out-of-area for services while managing an itinerant schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- New York State License in Speech Pathology
- Valid NYS Driver's License
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
- Must have demonstrated excellent listening skills
- Must have demonstrated commitment to performing job duties and tasks at a high level of performance
- Current knowledge of the principles and methods of prevention, assessment, and intervention for people with communication and swallowing disorders, including consideration of anatomical/physiological, psychological, developmental, and linguistic and cultural correlates
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology awarded by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred
