Job Summary
Speech Language Pathologist I — provide consultation, assessment, evaluation, and treatment for patients with speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing impairments in a hospital setting. Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans based on assessment findings; implement therapy techniques; monitor progress and modify plans as needed. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on strategies to support communication and swallowing in daily activities. Collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize outcomes and assist with resource assessment and process improvement. Maintain accurate documentation and billing for services, and provide orientation/training to staff and students while maintaining licensure and competencies. May provide recommendations on assistive devices (e.g., speaking valves, electrolarynx, trachea-esophageal prosthesis) as appropriate. Shift: Flex; Time Type: Full time; Location: Ashland, KY. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders, speech-language pathology, or a related field
- Master’s degree in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, or a related field is preferred
- Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) license in applicable state or eligible/licensed with ASHA
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire
- Driver's license if assigned
- Experience/education: 0-2 years in speech-language pathology or related field
- Clinical documentation and billing experience
- Prior work in hospital/home health settings preferred
