Job Summary
Conduct home visits to clients in Howard and Carroll Counties to perform evaluations, diagnose, and provide therapeutic interventions for speech, language, communication, or swallowing difficulties. Develop and continuously revise treatment plans based on physician orders, while educating patients and families on rehabilitative care and independent living activities. Accurately document observations, interventions, and evaluations using a touch pad tablet. This per diem role involves seeing 5-10 clients weekly from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. Candidates must hold a current Maryland Speech Language Pathologist license.
Required Qualifications
- A current license as a Speech Language Pathologist in Maryland
- Possess a certificate of clinical competence in speech from the American Speech and Hearing Association
- Have the equivalent educational requirements, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and work experience necessary for such a certificate, and be awaiting the opportunity to take the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association examination for certification
- Have completed the necessary work and education requirements, as indicated by school transcript or diploma, and be in the process of accumulating the necessary supervised work experience required for certification
- Must be available to see clients who reside in both Howard & Carroll Counties in Maryland
- Must be available to see approximately 5-10 clients per week during the hours 830a-5p Monday through Friday
Desired Qualifications
- Prior home care experience as a Speech Therapist
- Solid computer skills
- Prior experience with electronic medical records (EMR)
