Job Summary
Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) needed for Full-Time in-house rehab team. Responsibilities include evaluating residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits, guiding goals to improve cognition or swallowing, providing skilled speech-language therapy assessments and individualized treatment plans, implementing AAC systems for severe expressive/language disorders, and educating residents, families, caregivers, and other professionals. Role involves coordinating with other professionals for diagnostic swallowing procedures (MBSS, FEES) as ordered by physicians, maintaining compliance with practice standards, documenting billing and clinical records accurately, responding to family inquiries, training with Restorative Nursing and care staff, and ensuring resident safety and confidentiality while adhering to legal and licensing requirements. Required Qualifications
- Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
- SNF/Long term care experience preferred
- Current knowledge of treatment practices
- Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
