Job Summary
Speech-Language Pathologist to assess, diagnose, and treat individuals with speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in Palmdale, CA. Responsibilities include evaluating patients for speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing disorders; developing and implementing individualized treatment plans; collaborating with physicians, occupational, and physical therapists; educating patients, caregivers, and families on communication strategies; maintaining thorough documentation compliant with CA DPH regulations; ensuring licensure and continuing education; and staying current with best practices. Must follow infection control guidelines, maintain records, and adhere to HIPAA and other privacy standards; CA DPH compliance and licensure are required. Newly certified grads are welcome; CFY candidates may be considered depending on setting.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure (or eligibility) as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred (CFY candidates welcome depending on setting)
- 1+ year of clinical experience preferred (varies by setting)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong documentation and organizational abilities
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) preferred
- Proof of Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) if applicable
- Current CPR Card issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
- Must have proof of MMR, Varicella vaccinations or titers
- Proof of TB/PPD or Chest X-ray within the past 12 Months
- Current Annual Health Clearance
- Reliable source of transportation
