Job Summary
Speech-Language Pathologist to join in-house rehab for a long-term care setting. Responsibilities include evaluating residents for swallowing or cognitive deficits, guiding goals to improve cognition or swallowing, providing skilled speech and language therapy assessments and individualized treatment plans, implementing AAC systems for individuals with expressive/language disorders, educating residents and caregivers, coordinating with other professionals for diagnostic procedures, maintaining compliant clinical documentation and timely billing records, and ensuring resident confidentiality and safety. The role emphasizes collaboration with Restorative Nursing and care staff, ongoing professional development, and delivering patient-centered care. Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology is required; new graduates are welcome to apply. Flexible schedules and comprehensive benefits are offered. Location noted: Cooper, TX (in-person).
Required Qualifications
- Active/Valid Texas license in Speech-Language Pathology
- In good standing with all regulatory agencies and licensing boards
- SNF/Long term care experience preferred
- Current knowledge of treatment practices
- Knowledge of Net Health Electronic Documentation System preferred
- Ability to manage patients with different types of personalities
