Perform modified barium swallow studies to determine a patient's ability to swallow safely and conduct cognitive assessments to evaluate decision-making, memory, and communication capabilities. Document assessment results and collaborate with physicians to develop care plans while using exercises and adaptive devices to improve speech, memory, and cognition. Educate patients and families on these processes to support informed decision-making. Maintain flexibility and compassion while delivering high-quality care to trauma patients in a neuro and cardiac-focused environment.
