Job Summary
Screen, evaluate, and diagnose speech-language disorders in school-aged children from preschool through high school. Deliver direct therapy sessions and develop treatment plans targeting Individual Education Plan (IEP) goals for communicative success. Collaborate with teachers, caregivers, and related service providers to ensure goal carryover, while completing daily session notes and quarterly progress reports. Participate in annual IEP meetings and administer evaluations as requested under the supervision of a licensed SLP. Per diem pay of $50 per hour is available for the 2025-26 school year, with summer 2026 sessions also open. Immediate availability is required in the Bronx or Manhattan, specifically the Riverdale neighborhood.
Required Qualifications
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology, or Communication Science Disorders (CSD) from a program accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA)
- The Initial/Professional Teacher of Students with Speech-Language Disabilities (TSSLD) Certificate
- A valid NPI and Medicaid ID, if applicable
- A valid license to practice in New York State, if applicable
- Updated malpractice insurance
- A favorable result from all state, federal, and agency mandated background check
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Capable of using public transportation
- Ability to communicate proficiently in English, both orally and in writing
- Ability to perceive and demonstrate appropriate non-verbal communication for culture and context
- Ability to maintain a general working knowledge of community resources and must be computer literate
Desired Qualifications
- American Speech-Language/Hearing Association (ASHA) member and certification a plus!
- Bilingualism a plus!
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred
