Job Summary
Full-time Speech-Language Pathologist CFY at St. Peter's Hospital in Albany, NY. Provides consultation, evaluation and speech-language pathology services under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist. Establishes a rehabilitative plan of care following functional evaluation, and educates patients, family members, students, staff and the community under supervision. Coordinates services with other medical disciplines to facilitate a complete rehabilitative process. Participates in orientation and continuing education and maintains knowledge of applicable laws, compliance programs, and codes of conduct. Requires ASHA-approved graduate program in speech-language pathology; includes Clinical Fellowship (CFY) and inpatient acute rotation; strong communication, interpersonal and time management skills; BLS preferred. Experience with Modified Barium Swallow, electro larynx, tracheostomy speaking valves and augmentative communication equipment; experience with swallowing evaluations/therapy and communication evaluations/therapy for neurologically impaired populations. Required Qualifications
- Graduate of a speech-language pathology program approved by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association
- Clinical Fellowship / CFY eligibility in ASHA-approved program
- Clinical rotation in Inpatient Acute
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong time management skills
- BLS for Health Care Providers preferred
- Experience with Modified Barium Swallow, electro larynx, tracheostomy speaking valves and augmentative communication equipment
- Experience administering clinical swallowing evaluations/therapy programs and communication evaluations/therapy for neurologically impaired and medically fragile populations
