Job Summary
Plan, administer, and direct speech therapy services for cardiac, orthopedic, neurologic, vascular, pulmonary, and medical-surgical patients. Educate patients and families on diet modifications while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to develop care plans. Conduct Modified Barium Swallow studies and provide care for the trach/vent population. Maintain knowledge of Joint Commission, state, and federal guidelines. Requires a Master's degree, NYS license, BLS certification, and EPIC system familiarity.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology
- NYS SLP license and registration
- Modified Barium Swallow study
- BLS Certification through the American Heart Association
- Experience with trach/vent population
Desired Qualifications
- Previous hospital experience
- Prior experience with EPIC
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to staff members, management peers, and hospital administration
