Speech Language Pathologist (Casual/Per Diem)

Job Summary
Conduct speech and feeding evaluations, therapy, and patient examinations for inpatient programs serving patients from birth to 17, including neonates. Provide parent education, coordinate care with medical staff and outside agencies, and consult on durable medical equipment and transitional therapy programs. Complete timely documentation per departmental policy, attend interdisciplinary team meetings, and maintain knowledge of insurance referral processes. Participate in weekend/holiday inpatient coverage rotation as assigned. Maintain proficiency in pediatrics, adolescent care, and pediatric feeding/swallowing while completing mandatory training in safety, infection control, and compliance.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or its equivalent from an ASHA-accredited university
- Minimum of three (3) to six (6) months experience
- State of Delaware Speech Language Pathologist License
- Compact licensure is acceptable for primary licensure when the practitioner is eligible and maintains an active home-state license in a Compact state
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competency in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Availability for weekend/holiday inpatient coverage rotation
Desired Qualifications
- Member of professional specialty organizations (ASHA, State Speech and Hearing Assoc.)
- Clinical affiliation and/or work experience in pediatrics
- Clinical affiliation and/or work experience in pediatric feeding and swallowing
- Experience with physically and/or mentally challenged populations
