Job Summary
AAC Specialist with Boothby Therapy Services delivering Speech-Language Pathology services for AAC across Vermont schools. Responsible for conducting comprehensive AAC evaluations across diverse communication systems and access methods, developing individualized AAC recommendations and implementation plans, completing funding documentation and insurance submissions, and training educators, caregivers, and communication partners on AAC best practices. Collaborates with school teams, families, and multidisciplinary colleagues; supports students in developing functional communication skills across educational environments; works under AAC leadership mentorship to drive innovative, student-centered care. Requires Master's in Speech-Language Pathology, CCC-SLP, experience with AAC evaluations and device recommendations, proficiency with various AAC systems, Vermont SLP License (or ability to obtain), and Vermont Educator License (or ability to obtain). Relocation assistance available; compensation starts at $55/hour with comprehensive benefits. Location-based in Montpelier, Vermont (on-site). Background checks conducted on final candidates.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP)
- Experience conducting AAC evaluations and making device recommendations
- Knowledge of a variety of AAC systems, technologies, and alternative access methods
- Experience implementing AAC across school, home, and community settings
- Strong report writing, documentation, and funding packet preparation skills
- Ability to effectively train and coach adults as communication partners
- Vermont SLP License (or ability to obtain)
- Vermont Educator License (or ability to obtain)
- Vermont Licensure for practicing SLP in schools (implied)
