Job Summary
Provide direct therapy, conduct screeners, monitor student progress, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including therapists, educators, and parents. Plan and consult on individualized programs while managing caseloads that include dedicated time for documentation, administrative tasks, and strategic planning. Maintain valid SLPA certification and state licensure, ensuring compliance with IDEA requirements and Department of Education standards. Perform necessary physical movements such as lifting and engaging with PreK–12 students in all school locations. Work full-time, on-site hours within the Anchorage school district under dual support from the District and TheraPeds.
Required Qualifications
- Valid SLPA Certification from an ASHA approved institution
- State License as Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant, where required
- Department of Education Licensure as a SLPA, where required
- Experience working with children
- Fingerprint background clearance
- Ability to collaborate with school staff and parents with a demonstrated ability to exercise a high level of tact and discretion in both internal and external communications
- Physical movement functions, as needed, such as lifting, sitting, walking, standing, crawling, and engaging with students in all physical locations and activities
