Job Summary
Assist the SLP to evaluate, including observations when required, students suspected of speech and/or language disorders. Provide therapy (in person or virtual per district guidelines) for eligible students as indicated in the IEP. Conduct speech and language screenings on kindergarten students and other school-age students as needed, maintain progress data, communicate progress to parents, and participate in re-evaluations and transitions under supervision of a licensed SLP. Maintain records in accordance with federal/state regulations, promote generalization of speech-language skills, collaborate with teachers and parents, refer students for further evaluation when needed, keep professional credentials current, and participate in faculty meetings as required. Attend to Medicaid billing records as required and perform other job-related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited four-year college or university
- Florida Department of Health license for Speech Language Pathology Assistant
