Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for clients with speech, language, and complex communication needs, including Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and swallowing support. Provide direct speech-language pathology services, monitor progress through data collection, and collaborate with families, educators, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure carryover strategies. Complete timely clinical documentation, maintain compliance with state regulations and payer requirements, and advocate for access to communication resources. This role requires frequent regional travel between schools and community settings in Massachusetts and Rhode Island, necessitating a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) accredited university
- Current professional licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in both Massachusetts and Rhode Island, or eligibility for licensure
- Must hold a valid drivers' license and have access to an operational and insured vehicle to travel between sites
- Must be able to travel regularly throughout both states
- Candidates must have reliable transportation
Desired Qualifications
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred or eligible
- Experience working with individuals with complex communication needs and AAC systems preferred
- Experience evaluating and training individuals and families in AAC use preferred
- Experience working with individuals with swallowing needs preferred
- Experience developing individualized, measurable, and functional treatment goals
- Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification preferred or willingness to pursue certification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
