Job Summary
Diagnose and treat speech-language and swallowing disorders in acute care patients, including head-neck cancer, esophageal and tracheoesophageal voice training, and use of video fluorography. Develops therapy goals and programs, determines oral vs. alternate nutrition if needed, conducts evaluations and interprets results, documents progress and billing, participates in interdepartmental rehabilitation team meetings, and provides guidance to staff and students while staying current with field developments.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- 1-2 years of progressively more responsible job-related experience
- ASHA - American Speech Language Hearing Association
- SP-L - Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in the District of Columbia within 90 Days
